About the Instructor
Mark Retana began his Martial Arts training in 1991, studying the Mitchell System of
Kenpo Karate at Aaction Kenpo Karate studios in Springfield, Missouri. It was there
that he studied under Master Jim Mitchell on a private basis for a period of over 10
years.

While training at Aaction Kenpo, Mark was
offered the opportunity to teach and did
so for over 6 years continuously, working
with a diverse student body representing
a broad spectrum of occupations,
ranging from auto shop mechanics to
surgeons, as well as military and law
enforcement personnel.
Today, Mark holds the rank of 5th Degree
Black Belt in the Art of Mitchell System
Kenpo Karate, and is a member of the
original World Kenpo Karate Association
headed by Jim Mitchell. He is the Chief
Instructor at Elite Kenpo Karate, offering
professional personal training and
instruction in the San Francisco Bay Area.
